Welcome The U of M Gopher Football Parents’ Club - the ONLY organized parents’ club in the Big Ten Conference!

History

In 1985 at the Independence Bowl, some of the football parents felt the need for a support group for the parents and families of the Minnesota Football Team.  In the Spring of 1986, the University of Minnesota Gopher Football Parents Club was formed.  The founders were Mary Jo Philstrom and Mary Ryan.  The membership for that first year totaled 74 families.

In 2005, membership was 88 families.  It is our hope that the group will continue to grow and become a significant asset to the Golden Gopher Football Family for many years to come.

Over the past 25 years, the Parent’s Club has cooperated with the U of M Football Office to provide support wherever and whenever needed.  The members host a tailgate before the Spring Game for families and new recruits, organize tailgate parties for home and away games, and work with the football office to remain in compliance of NCAA and Big Ten Conference rules.
